OPSWAT Partners with AV-TEST and AV-Comparatives for Enhanced Certification Program
San Francisco, CA, August 30th, 2016 — OPSWAT today announced its partnership with AV-TEST and AV-Comparatives as part of its enhanced Certified Security Applications Program. Originally launched in 2007, the program currently supports over 1,000 applications from various anti-malware engines to ensure their compatibility with all leading access control solutions. The new partnerships add to OPSWAT's Certified Security Application Program's compatibility tests to certify application's detection quality, as well as OPSWAT's tests for false positive responsiveness.
The program is ideal for endpoint security applications vendors who want to certify regularly, and for IT administrators to browse highly compatible and effective applications for their security stack.
The program was first developed after gathering compatibility requirements from over 50+ OPSWAT OEM customers, including leading CASB, NAC, SSL-VPN, and SSO solutions from vendors such as Cisco, Citrix, Pulse Secure, IBM, and Dell. With the new partnerships, all OPSWAT Gold Certified applications can showcase their gold badges to show customers that their detection quality, compatibility, and false positive rates have been assessed by AV-TEST, AV-Comparatives, and OPSWAT. Certified applications are required to have their applications tested by either partner in order to be eligible for OPSWAT's Gold Certified Badges.
Benny Czarny, OPSWAT CEO and Founder said, "Our new partnerships with AV-TEST and AV-Comparatives will take the program to the next level. Together we can focus on improving the security and compatibility of our applications that work with Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, IBM, and many others. These partnerships help us unify endpoint security application quality metrics and the compatibility of those applications within access control technologies." Czarny recommends that "Any system administrator looking to buy or implement an endpoint security solution should always look for the OPSWAT Certified Badge. It is extremely important to verify quality and compatibility before adding any application to his or her IT infrastructure."
Andreas Clementi, CEO at AV-Comparatives said "We are excited to partner with OPSWAT to bring more comprehensive tests and certifications for all anti-malware applications. As an ISO and Eicar certified testing lab we encourage all anti-malware applications that pass our file detection and Real-World Protection tests from our large sample sets to certify their compatibility and false positive responsiveness through OPSWAT's Certified Security Application Program."
Andreas Marx, CEO of AV-TEST said "As a leading research institute, we welcome the new partnership with OPSWAT. Together, we can raise the bar in protection, performance, and usability. Through dynamic and static analysis, both AV-TEST and OPSWAT can help IT administrators select the best performing anti-malware application that is compatible within their existing security architecture."
AV-TEST, AV-Comparatives and OPSWAT encourage all Anti-malware, Patch Management, and Encryption application vendors to learn more about the enhanced program and benefits, and certify their latest versions prior to public release. OPSWAT also recommends that all IT administrators check OPSWAT's list of certified security applications before making a purchase decision.
