In this Employee Spotlight, get to know Kayla Gandy on our Engineering team in Tampa!

How did you begin your career in the cybersecurity industry?
OPSWAT is my first career out of college in the cybersecurity industry.
Tell us about your role at OPSWAT.
I am currently working on the Linux Kiosk team, and I contribute to the addition of features as well as bug fixes for this new product.
What do you like the most about working at OPSWAT?
OPSWAT has made a very big effort to welcome new employees like me and foster a collaborative company culture. I appreciate the ability to speak easily and freely to people on different teams and departments.
How has the company changed since you first started?
In the three months I've been here I haven't noticed many drastic changes except the addition of new employees. Development strategies and protocols have been evolving to meet the needs of larger, more spread-out teams.
What is the best career lesson you've learned at OPSWAT?
I have learned a great deal about remote collaboration as well as the importance of a flexible yet stable structure in the development process.
What has been your favorite project to work on at OPSWAT?
So far, I have only been on one team, working on the Linux kiosk. However, this has been a great experience as the kiosk is an interesting product.
If you could describe OPSWAT in one word, what would it be and why?
Adaptation.
OPSWAT is in a period of fast-paced growth and has done a great job of adapting to meet its own expanding needs.
