OPSWAT Employee Spotlight - Ross Stewart

In this Employee Spotlight, get to know Ross Stewart, Senior Director of Product Design at OPSWAT. Ross joined OPSWAT in early 2019 and works from the San Francisco office.

How did you begin your career in the cybersecurity industry?
OPSWAT is the first cybersecurity company I have worked for.
Please share a little bit about your role at OPSWAT.
I lead our Product Design group – including Software, Hardware, and Industrial Design requirements across the product range. We are focused on building our design capabilities by growing our designers, researchers, and managers. Our work covers product design, design systems, testing, and customer research.
What do you like the most about working at OPSWAT?
I enjoy working at OSPWAT because of the daily challenges/opportunities that exist when working with over 15 products, the smart people I get to work with, and the shared mission of protecting our customers.
How has the company changed since you first started?
While much has changed in terms of growth, including new products, offices, and teams - the mission remains the same - make great, meaningful products that support our Zero-Trust philosophy.
What is the best career lesson you've learned at OPSWAT?
Be strategic in your actions.
What has been your favorite project to work on at OPSWAT?
The one I'm working on now! Some of the past projects I’ve worked on that I really enjoyed include important products that were new or involved major upgrades include launching MetaDefender Drive and MetaDefender Cloud, and evolving the MetaDefender Kiosk product range.
