OPSWAT Enhances Metadefender Cloud Capacity, Adds Broader CDR Coverage
OPSWAT, a global leader in file and endpoint advanced security solutions, today announced the upgrade of its file scanning and anti-malware cloud service to the latest release of MetaDefender, version 4.8. MetaDefender Cloud enables developers and malware analysts to quickly begin scanning files for advanced threat detection and prevention using multi-scanning and CDR (Content Disarm and Reconstruction) technologies.

The upgraded service synchronizes OPSWAT's cloud service to the latest maintenance release available for on-premises deployment and provides end users with the latest benefits:
- Better enduser performance via an increase in file scan capacity
- Improved data sanitization coverage, leveraging the industry-leading file type support of OPSWAT's CDR with over 30 file types supported
MetaDefender is OPSWAT's flagship solution and a leading platform for file-based advanced threat prevention, including the identification and removal of known and unknown threats from files and productivity documents. Organizations can use the platform's data sanitization (CDR) engine to block zero-day attacks originating from documents, such as macro-enabled malware and drive-by hyperlinks.
MetaDefender Cloud can now de-weaponize a broader set of file types, including HWP, JTD, XML, WMP, DOT, DOTX, XLSM, GIF, CSV, and ODT. It now supports deeper sanitization functionality for Microsoft-based file types such as metadata and embedded fonts in MS Office 2003 and 2007 file formats, along with DDE attacks. Lastly, the service now offers enhanced PDF sanitization options for processing time and file size outputs.
"Our back-end cloud customers will see immediate improvements in speed and scalability, along with improved threat analysis results from the most powerful anti-malware platform available," said Horacio Zambrano, Chief Marketing Officer at OPSWAT. "And unlike other cloud services, we maintain our commitment to data privacy by providing our enterprise customers multiple options to protect the privacy of data and files in their network."
OPSWAT will showcase its MetaDefender product suite at AWS re:Invent at the Venetian Las Vegas, booth #1536, on Tuesday, Nov. 28, through Thursday, Nov. 30. Cloud developers are invited to learn more about the improvements in the cloud service.
In addition, the company is offering an exclusive MetaDefender Cloud API extended trial for one year to the first 50 to sign up. The free trial will allow 100 scans per hour (2,400 scans/day). During the event, interested parties can sign up at http://info.opswat.com/aws-2017-offer.
