OPSWAT Expands Vietnam Presence, Opens First Critical Infrastructure Protection Lab In Asia
HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM – December 16, 2022 – OPSWAT, a leading provider of critical infrastructure protection (CIP) cybersecurity solutions, announced today the opening of its first Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Lab in Asia, which is located at its new and expanded office in Ho Chi Minh City.
The launch of this new facility reflects OPSWAT’s increased focus on growing its presence in Asia, including Vietnam.

“As Vietnam ramps up its digital transformation efforts in line with the government’s IR 4.0 plans, cybersecurity becomes increasingly important, especially for critical infrastructure sectors such as financial services, energy, and government services, among others. With our new CIP Lab, we aim to empower the local public and private sector in managing cyber risks and addressing threats and vulnerabilities through knowledge-sharing, and the provision of trainings and technical support.”
Benny Czarny, Founder and CEO, OPSWAT

A Cybersecurity Resource for Vietnamese Stakeholders
With its new CIP Lab, OPSWAT aims to provide organizations with up-to-date information on the latest network security trends and solutions, particularly through real-world use cases and attacks on information technologies (IT), operational technologies (OT), and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) environments.
The lab will also serve as a venue to provide training and education support for local customers, partners and other stakeholders.

"By hosting demonstrations of cybersecurity attacks and defense simulations, the CIP lab will enable Vietnamese cybersecurity professionals, engineers and students to gain practical experience and advanced information on security and critical infrastructure protection technologies.”
La Manh Cuong, Vice President of Research and Development and General Manager for Vietnam, OPSWAT
Further, the lab will enable partners and customers to explore the capabilities of OPSWAT’s flagship products which encompasses OT and industrial cybersecurity, web application security, e-mail security, network access control, unidirectional gateway, cross domain solutions, asset inventory, industrial IDS & IPS, and storage security.
Expanding the local footprint
Apart from housing the CIP Lab, OPSWAT’s expansion for larger premises is driven by its plans to increase its local headcount to 600+ employees over the next 3 years as it seeks to further accelerate its growth in the country. Since establishing a presence in Vietnam in 2018, OPSWAT’s local operations have posted an average annual growth rate of 50% per year.
Specifically, OPSWAT is looking to hire more engineers and specialists to help develop state-of-the-art cybersecurity technologies and products to effectively defend against sophisticated cyberattacks.
“We believe that Vietnamese tech talents have the necessary skills and expertise to help OPSWAT respond to the growing needs of our customers and partners for comprehensive and effective solutions in critical infrastructure protection.”
La Manh Cuong adds that OPSWAT Vietnam was recently named the “Best Companies to Work for In Asia 2022” by HR Asia for the 3rd consecutive year, underlining its commitment to becoming an employer-of-choice not just in the cybersecurity sector but also in the whole country.
