Potentially Unwanted Applications

Potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) are grayware applications that introduce risk or have an undesirable impact on user security and/or privacy. Detection and control of PUAs are essential for establishing device trust.

The OPSWAT Device Compliance Module enables software engineers to implement checks for and control of applications which may introduce security risks to the endpoint such as compromising privacy or decrease efficiency and performance of the endpoint.

This category enables the following actions:

Fast and accurate discovery of applications and browser add-ons on the endpoint.

Identify applications and browser add-ons deemed to be “potentially unwanted”.
